Azure – add disk to a VM (sql)

Hi there

Today’s article will demonstrate how to add a data disk to a production vm to run SQL

Access the VM

Create the new disk (add the new disk and create a new one at the same time)

Select the disk type and size

Go back to the VM and check the Disk Management

You should see a new disk to be initialized

• go through its process
• initialize the disk
• format and give it a letter and name
• check the disk availability on Explorer
